Dr. Nick Stryniak is a Halifax native and received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie.  Dr. Stryniak graduated with his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the New York Chiropractic College and is board-certified to practice in both Canada and the United States. While at NYCC, Dr. Stryniak was selected for an honours remote internship, which involved rotations at Meridian Chiropractic & Wellness in Syracuse, NY, Veterans Affairs Hospital in Bath, NY, Neurology department of the CNY Spine Group and Chronic pain management section of New York Spine & Wellness, both in Syracuse, NY.

He has completed advanced training in Active Release Technique (A.R.T.), Cox Spinal Decompression, functional assessment, sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, instrument-assisted soft-tissue treatment, Kinesiology taping and whole food nutrition.

Dr. Stryniak has a special interest in helping athletes and has provided chiropractic treatment to high school, college, recreational and professional athletes at various events, the most notable being the USA Track and Field Visa Championship Series at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Dr. Stryniak prefers a research-based & patient centered approach to injury management. This starts with a thorough assessment to determine which soft-tissues are injured and the overall cause of the injury/symptoms. With a proper diagnosis, the appropriate treatment plan is then discussed with the patient to address both the symptoms and the cause. This include a variety of treatment techniques to maximize results. With this approach, Dr. Stryniak has had success in treating a variety of conditions such as neck pain, back pain (sprains/strains, disc bulges/herniations, spinal stenosis, sciatica etc), nerve related pain and headaches, repetitive stress injuries (tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, etc), sports injuries (sprains/strains), car accident related injuries (whiplash) and chronic pain.

For most patients, pain-relief is the ultimate goal and treatment ceases when this has been achieved. However, Dr. Stryniak will often provide performance care to those patients who prefer to be treated on a regular basis for improved recovery, reduce the risk of injury &  re-injury, and overall improved health,  athletic and daily-life performance.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nick is a hockey goaltender, beginner golfer and recreational runner, enjoys being active and spending time with his friends, family and wife, Jessika. He is also a self-proclaimed “seminar junky” and enjoys continually expanding his clinical knowledge and treatment tool-belt.
