by | Sep 18, 2016

Alexi Kuhnow, MPT

Physiotherapist, McKenzie Method Provider

Alexi Kuhnow started her career by graduating from the University of Guelph with her BSc ialexin  Biomedical Sciences. From there, she knew she wanted to use her knowledge of the human body and passion for fitness to help others, so she went on to graduate from the University of Western Ontario with her Master of Physical Therapy. Since then she has been working with people of all ages to help them to become pain-free and to achieve their sport, fitness and functional goals.

In her physiotherapy practice, Alexi is focussed on evidence-based care and getting people better and back to their regular lives as quickly as possible. She knows that a key component of treatment is empowering others to be able to resolve their pain at home, which achieves permanent improvement. Alexi is known for resolving pain and problems that have persisted despite previous therapy or surgery, including neck and low back pain, recurrent overuse injuries, and arthritis.

Outside of the clinic, Alexi is working towards becoming the sixth health care provider in Nova Scotia to become credentialed in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. She also has been an examiner for the national physiotherapy exam, conducts research in the health care field, and consistently takes advanced training in the treatment of low back, neck and extremity problems. In her spare time she enjoys training for races, exploring hiking trails, and spending time with her husband and dog.
